The Generation Gap Video Clip

Choose ONE of the following tasks created by Eduardo Lina):

i) Create your own video clip - It may be a Photo story or a video clip, and you may want  to upload it to You Tube (however, make sure

  • you obtain permission from people whose images / photographs / etc. you use) 
  • your work is original, that is, that you do not borrow anything (characters, text, etc.) from another artist.

 You may be asked to show and explain your clip to the class). Enjoy your work.

OPTION 1:

Write a letter to a friend in an English speaking country telling her / him about the video clip you have just seen French & Saunders-Generation Gap ).

You may want to relate to the following points:

       ·        The Generation Gap unit you doing.

       ·        How it relates to The Generation Gap theme.

·        Whether the situations are relevant to the theme.

·        How relevant the clip and the insight it provides are nowadays.

·        What you think of the acting (you have liked / dislikesd the actoresses and their play).

Write  100 - 120 words. Divide your writing into paragraphs (introduction; body, conclusion) Use connectives. Pay attention to Grammar and spelling.

Your letter will be evaluated using the following rubric (it's the same for 10th, 11th or 12th grade pupils)

10th grade pupils 4 and 5 points Bagrut level

 

11tth / 12th grade pupils 4 points Bagrut level .

Your school newspaper has asked you to write an article to explain whether The Generation Gap Video Clip  French & Saunders-Generation Gap ) has succeeded in establishing a significant theme.

In your composition, you may relate to the following points:

·        How it relates to The Generation Gap theme.

·        Whether the situations are relevant to the theme.

·        How relevant the clip and the insight it provides are nowadays.

·        What you think of the acting (you have liked / dislikesd the actoresses and their play).

Write  100 - 120 words. Divide your writing into paragraphs (introduction; body, conclusion) Use connectives. Pay attention to Grammar and spelling.

The Generation Gap Role-Play

Work in pairs or groups of three. Role-play one of the following situations:

1. A son / daughter decides to leave school start an artistic career. The family has invested a lot in their child's future and want him/her to get a degree. The son confronts the family.

2. A very conservative family's daugher is pregnant. The family wants the girl to get married. She doesn't want to. The family talks to her

3. A teenager enjoys hanging out a lot. Her parents think she should stay home and study. There is a great show this Saturday, but the teen's parents know that there is a very important test coming. They talk to their child.
